The situation

A migration that goes wrong costs more than the one you’re paying for

You're moving from Wix, Squarespace or a legacy CMS to WordPress or Webflow — and nobody has mapped what happens to the URLs that rank.

Hosting can't handle traffic, pages time out, and "move to better infrastructure" has been on the roadmap for two quarters.

Three domains, three CMSs, three sets of rankings — and a mandate to consolidate into one domain without losing the SEO value in any of them.

The new site shipped. Traffic didn't follow. Nobody mapped the old URLs to the new ones before launch.

Since the last migration, hundreds of pages return errors or sit deindexed, and nobody owns fixing it.

Marketing doesn't trust engineering with SEO. Engineering doesn't want to own marketing's rankings. The migration sits in a backlog.

Why Growston

Most developers migrate the pages. We also migrate the rankings.

A platform move is a development project. A migration is a development project with your organic pipeline riding on it. Most agencies and freelancers do the first and hope for the best on the second — we refuse to sell either half on its own.

A typical dev shop or freelancer

  • Hands you a redirect spreadsheet and wishes you luck
  • Treats "SEO issues" as your problem once the build ships
  • Watches traffic for a week and calls the migration done
  • Migrates the content, forgets the tracking
  • A team you brief once and never see build the thing

Growston

  • Builds, tests and verifies every 301 rule fires before DNS cuts over
  • The team that plans the redirect map is the team that ships the fix — no PDF, no dev queue
  • Monitors crawl, indexation and rankings for 90 days post-launch — that's when damage usually surfaces
  • Migrates GA4, GTM and conversion tracking in the same sprint, verified before go-live
  • A named strategist and developer, in the room from audit to the 90-day report

What we do

Migration, planned like engineering and reported like marketing

Website Migration is the full-stack move — platform, domain, redesign, indexation, speed and tracking — planned and shipped by one embedded team, measured against rankings retained and traffic recovered, not tickets closed.

Domain & URL Migration

301 redirect mapping, canonical strategy and XML sitemap rebuild, built and QA'd before your domain or URLs change.

Platform & CMS Migration

Moving between WordPress, Webflow, or a custom build without breaking your content model, templates or editorial workflow.

Website Redesign + Migration

Bundling a redesign into the same launch as a platform or domain move — one risk window instead of two.

Post-Migration Indexation Recovery

Diagnosing and fixing the 404s, deindexed pages and crawl errors that follow a migration gone wrong — yours or a previous vendor's.

Analytics & Tracking Continuity

GA4, GTM and conversion tracking migrated and verified in staging, so reporting doesn't go dark the week you need it most.

How it works

From audit to a live, indexed, ranking site in four steps

Every step produces something you keep — whether or not you continue with us.

01

Audit

Full inventory of your current URLs, rankings, indexation status and redirect risk — so nothing gets left behind in the move.

You receive

A written URL and risk inventory naming exactly what could break — yours to keep regardless of what happens next.

02

30/60/90 Migration Plan

A sequenced plan connecting the audit to a launch date, a redirect map, a staging/QA process, and a rollback plan if something goes wrong.

You receive

A migration plan your CTO and CMO can both sign off on.

03

Build & Launch

The embedded team — strategist, developer, technical SEO specialist — builds on staging, tests the redirect map, migrates tracking, and manages the cutover.

You receive

A live site on the new platform or domain, indexed and instrumented from day one.

04

Optimize & Report

90 days of crawl, indexation and ranking monitoring post-launch, with fixes shipped the week an issue surfaces.

You receive

A live dashboard and written narrative: what recovered, what needed a fix, what's next.

Let's meet

Meeting first, written migration plan within 3 business days.

How the first meeting works

We do the homework before we meet

We analyze your site before we meet — so the conversation starts at your numbers, not at zero.

Before the meeting: We review what's public about your siteindexed pages, current rankings, and what a crawl already shows.
In the meeting: 30 minutes on what you're moving, what's at risk, and how we'd sequence it. Not a pitch deck.
After: A written migration plan within 3 business daysscope, price, and the redirect and rollback approach we'd commit to. Yours to keep either way.
No migration date set yet? The meeting covers sequencing, budget bands, and a realistic timeline.

What you get

What you get, month by month

  • A named strategist and developer covering platform, redirects, tracking and QA

  • A full URL and redirect map, tested in staging before your domain or platform changes

  • The build itself shipped — not a migration checklist handed to your dev queue

  • GA4, GTM and conversion tracking migrated and verified before go-live

  • 90 days of post-launch crawl, indexation and ranking monitoring, fixes shipped same-week

  • A live dashboard plus a written report on what recovered and what's next

The alternatives

The honest comparison

Growston In-house dev team Generalist web/SEO agency Freelance developer
Cost Fixed-scope project pricing, redirects included Depends on who you already employ — migrations are rarely their day job Priced for a one-off project, then upsold on "SEO issues" Cheap, but capacity and accountability cap out fast
Time to value Weeks — audit to a tested, launched migration Fast to start, slow to get the redirect logic right Slow — briefs handed to juniors, SEO bolted on late Fast to start, no QA process behind it
SEO + engineering together Yes — one team plans the map and builds the site Depends entirely on who's on the team Rarely — dev builds it, SEO reviews it after No — you still need someone who understands redirects
After launch Monitors, tests and fixes for 90 days after go-live Team moves to the next ticket Account handed to a junior for "maintenance" Unreliable continuity once invoiced

Fit check

Who this is for — and who it is not

Not a fit if you…

  • Need the domain or platform live within days, with no time for an audit or a tested redirect map
  • Want the cheapest possible build and are willing to accept ranking loss as the cost of it
  • Have no organic traffic or rankings to protect — this is a standard web development project, not a migration

Good fit if you…

  • Are moving CMS, domain, hosting, or consolidating multiple sites, and have rankings or traffic you can't afford to lose
  • Are a B2B SaaS, scale-up, or founder-led company in the Nordics, UK, US, or expanding into them
  • Want one team owning the redirect map, the build, and the tracking — not a developer and an SEO agency pointing at each other
  • Are ready to give us access to your CMS, DNS, analytics and Search Console so we can move at the agreed cadence

The people on your account

Named senior strategists — not „our team”

You meet the people who will run your migration before you sign. They stay on it after.

FAQ

Before you ask

Will we lose our search rankings during the migration?

Not if the redirect map is built and tested before your domain or platform changes — which is why the audit and staging QA are the majority of the work, not an afterthought.

How do you handle 301 redirects and URL mapping?

We inventory every indexed URL, map each one to its new destination, test the rules in staging, and verify every redirect fires before DNS cuts over.

Can you migrate us between WordPress, Webflow, or a custom stack?

Yes. We’ve moved sites between all three, and the platform choice doesn’t change how we protect rankings, traffic or tracking during the move.

What happens to our GA4 and conversion tracking during the move?

We migrate and verify GA4, GTM and conversion tracking in the same sprint as the content, so reporting doesn’t go dark the week you need it most.

We already have a developer or agency — can you just handle the SEO side?

Yes, though we’d rather own both. Most ranking loss happens at the seam between the build and the redirect map — the part nobody owns when it’s split across two vendors.

What happens if something breaks after launch?

We monitor crawl, indexation and rankings for 90 days post-launch and ship fixes the week an issue surfaces, not the next sprint.

Can you consolidate multiple websites into one domain?

Yes — this is one of the more common migrations we run, mapping the rankings and traffic from each domain into the consolidated one without losing the value in any of them.
